Tips on what to look out for when renting a car

Renting a car is one of the most convenient ways to travel independently, and there are a number of factors that should be taken into account to ensure that your journey doesn't get too hot:

Rental conditions. It is advisable to compare and understand the terms and conditions of the different rental companies: mileage or driver age/age restrictions, additional charges, fuel policy, etc. Also take into account the reviews and ratings of other customers. 

The right vehicle. Take into account your needs, what kind of rental car you need to meet your travel needs (number of passengers, cost-effectiveness of the vehicle, luggage space, etc.).

Rental company. Find out about the rental company where you want to rent the car. It is recommended that you choose a well-known car rental company, and also look at reviews and ratings.
 

Most popular models and changes in rental prices

As passenger cars are particularly popular in car rental, the range of models in this group is also huge. Customers tend to opt for economical, small cars for both long-term and short-term rentals, but it all depends on the destination and the driver's expectations, as well as the rental price. Popular models include the Hyundai i10, i20, i30, Volkswagen Polo, Golf, Passat, Toyota Yaris, Corolla, Kia Cee'd and many more. 

As with other classes of car, the price of a car rental depends on the rental period (daily, weekly, multi-weekly or monthly). In many cases, rental companies offer discounts or special offers for longer periods (a week or a month). It is also advisable to note that a cheaper daily rate will be quoted for a longer rental period than when booking a car for a single day or a few days.

The pick-up/return location of the car may also affect the price. Many popular rental companies have rental offers specifically for airport locations, but in many cases the price is slightly higher than renting a car in another location (further away from the airport). This is because there are often additional airport charges (parking, etc.).

Another factor that can determine the price of a car rental is the time remaining before the reservation starts. The most attractive pricing can be found by booking 1-2 weeks before the start of the reservation. Not only are prices lower than last minute bookings, but the choice of models is usually wider.
